FUNCTIONAL BEHAVIOR ASSESSMENT

The process for gathering information that can be used to build effective behavioral support plans. An assessment is complete when three main outcomes can be accomplished: (1) Description of the undesirable behavior(s), (2) Prediction of the times and situations when the undesirable behavior(s) will and will not occur across the full range of typical daily routines, (3) Definition of the function(s) that the undesirable behavior produces for the student with the disability.
